iPad Mini early reviews positive

The Apple’s long awaited iPad Mini was unveiled yesterday. The newest member of the iPad family measures 7.9 inches versus the iPad’s 10 inches. Also, the iPad Mini is compatible with the 250,000 existing iPad apps, so all the apps we’ve recommended here on Taps and Clicks should work on the iPad Mini.

Here’s a well done video describing the new tablet device:

Most of the reviews of the new iPad Mini have been positive. The greatest criticism has been the price. Apple, for some unknown reason, has priced the iPad Mini at $329 for the 16GB model. This is much higher than the anticipated $249 price point and a full $130 higher than competing Kindle Fire and Android Nexus 7 tablets. Both are priced at $199. A number of technology journalists have advised waiting to purchase, as they expect Apple to roll out an improved iPad Mini by this time next year. In the past, Apple has discounted older iPad tablets by $100, so you might can buy the new iPad Mini for about $229 just by delaying gratification.
