Google Publisher Plugin for WordPress

Google has developed and released a new plugin for WordPress. This first release of Google Publisher Plugin adds support for Google AdSense and Webmaster Tools.

The AdSense support enables WordPress users to easily point and click to add AdSense ads to their content. While few get rich hosting AdSense ads, the plugin does allow one to easily start making money with WordPress.

The Webmaster Tools support enables WordPress administrators to verify their site ownership with one click. Then, the Google Publisher Plugin provides reports on the health of the WordPress site and recommendations for improvements.

So, instead of having to open multiple browser windows or tabs, WordPress administrators can easily manage several of their Google services from within the WordPress dashboard. We expect support for Google Analytics and Google+ to be forthcoming in later versions.

One word of caution: the Google Publisher Plugin is NOT available for accounts due to providing only a short list of approved plugins. Likewise, university WordPress users may find themselves denied access to the Google Publisher Plugin until computer services can examine and certify the plugin.
